I am an IT Professional based in the High Peak, UK who has worked in the IT industry since 1993. During this time I have worked in first, second and third line technical support. I have also been involved in the provision of on-site hardware and software support, along with desktop and web application development and design and database development and design. My interests encompass all things IT related and am always keen to expand my skill set as an IT professional.
IT Career History
My primary area of interest has always been in software development. I began developing applications for MS DOS in the early 1990’s using Xbase languages such as Dbase III+ and the CA Clipper compiler for 16 bit DOS applications.
From the late 1990’s onward I moved over to 32 bit Windows application development using tools such as Alaska Software’s Xbase++ compiler, The Advantage Database Server and Liveware Publishing’s R&R ReportWorks report design solution.
From 2001 until 2010 I was a director, shareholder and lead application developer at Trade-Right Systems Ltd., responsible for the design and development of the company’s flagship ERP system – Epsilon for Wholesalers. The Epsilon system was targeted specifically towards the UK wholesale and manufacturing sectors and is still in use to this day by wholesale and manufacturing companies throughout the UK.
Upsilon-ERP
I am currently Lead Developer of Upsilon-ERP which is a cloud based ERP system targeted specifically towards the UK wholesale and manufacturing industry sectors. Upsilon-ERP is a successor product to the Epsilon for Wholesalers system mentioned above.
Some of the tools and technologies that I am currently using for web application development include PHP, MySQL, MariaDB, Stimulsoft Reports, Scriptcase and Plesk.
